Obituary

Wilbur Franklin Spangler, 89, of Accident, MD, died Friday, May 12, 2017, at Oakland Nursing and Rehab Center, Oakland, MD.

Born January 7, 1928, in Stoystown, PA, he was the son of the late F. Marcellus and Lucille "Lucy" Spangler. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Evelyn (Sell) Spangler and one son, Wilbur Spangler, Jr.

Mr. Spangler was a mechanic.

He is survived by three sons, Robert Spangler, Washington, PA; Randy Spangler, Somerset, PA; Daniel Spangler, Accident, MD; four daughters, Carol Bittinger, Somerset; Judy Spangler and Karen Nazelrod, both of Meyersdale, PA; Cathy Merrbach, Salisbury, PA; two sisters, Jane and May; 19 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held in the Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Scott Gray officiating.

Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD, is in charge of arrangements.
