Obituary

Trevola Harrison (McDonald) Schrock, 91, of Grantsville, MD and formerly of Springs, PA, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.

Born April 21, 1925, in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin and Edna Pearl (Kaylor) McDonald. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Noah Schrock and two brothers, Chester and Lester Hause.

Mrs. Schrock was a homemaker and also worked in housekeeping and day care. She was a member of the Maranatha Assembly of God, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the women’s ministry group. She and her husband hosted Fresh Air Children from New York for many years.

She is survived by two daughters, Josephine “Josi” Yommer and husband, Harrison “Hank”, Grantsville; Jeannie Mishler and husband, Harold, Sr., Meyersdale, PA; New York City daughter, Anna Villanueva; one brother, Daniel Puffinburg, Springs; seven grandchildren, Eric (Aimee) Yommer, Brock (Heather) Yommer, Heidi (Russell) Fazenbaker, Derrick (Beth) Caruthers, Robert (Mary) Caruthers, Jeannette (Bob) Messmer and Jason Caruthers and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the New Hope Christian Fellowship (formerly Maranatha Assembly of God), 176 Springs Rd., Grantsville, on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Don DeMars officiating.

Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, is in charge of the arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or to the New Hope Christian Fellowship.
