Lori Ann (Garlitz) Quinn

Obituary

Lori Ann Garlitz Quinn, age 56, died Friday, July 28, 2017, after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Lori was born May 3, 1961, in Meyersdale, PA. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Hazel Garlitz, of Salisbury. She was also preceded in death by a nephew, Matthew Beachy.

Lori was a graduate of Salisbury-Elk Lick High School.

She is survived by two children, Ian Quinn (Katie) of Seven Springs, and Ronni Quinn, of Meyersdale, and two grandchildren, Emily Quinn and Elias Quinn. She is also survived by five siblings: Carla Beachy (Bill) of Ellicott City, MD; Donna Schrock (Richard, deceased) of Perry Hall, MD; Linda Leong (Wayne), of Springfield, VA; Thomas Garlitz (Jenifer) of Joliet, IL; and Mark Garlitz (Trish) of Salisbury. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lori was well known in Salisbury for having developed and maintained the salisburypa.com website, which provides a wealth of historical information and photos on the town history, in addition to photos and information on high school alumni going back several decades. She was an avid genealogist, focusing primarily on her mother’s lineage. She was also gifted in both photography and counted cross stitch. Before her illness, she worked at the Comfort Inn in Grantsville, Md., as a desk clerk.

Cancer shortened Lori’s life. Yet her life was rich, full of caring and laughter. It was filled, as well, with friends and family, who surrounded her with support and love during her brave final months.

To the family and friends,
I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one.
When Jesus was on earth his friend Lazarus died. He was in the tomb for 4 days already when Jesus arrived. Mary and Martha, Lazarus' sisters were grieving and Jesus gave way to tears. Jesus compared death to sleep. He called to Lazarus and Lazarus came back to life! You can read this wonderful true account in the Bible at John chapter 11. Jusus demonstrated what he will do for mankind when his kingdom government is ruling over all the earth. Our loved ones will come back to life! At time there will be no more pain or death (Revelation 21:3,4.)

As you celebrate a life well lived may the God of all comfort also grant you peace and hope. "There is going to be a resurrection" (Acts 24:15).
