We were shocked to hear of the passing of Gary Fratz. Mr. Fratz delivered hay to our home 20 years ago when we were seeding our lawn after building our home. Over the years we have purchased hay, pumpkins and other items from the Fratz family farm. Mr. Fratz was a special individual and will be missed by anyone who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Respectfully, Sherrie and John Taylor

Kate and family,

What a shock I received this afternoon when my husband asked if I knew a Gary Fratz. When I told him that Gary owned the farm where we see all the pumpkins in the fall he immediately knew where I meant. Being away from Garrett County I usually do have to rely on the newspapers and the internet to keep me abreast of people I knew/know. After 57 years here are not many left that I remember from my teen years. Just Friday evening I was typing quick messages back and forth with Carol Williams. At the time she and Tom were stuck on the Auto Train in Sanford.

Hold tight to the memories you made together over the past 59 years. They cannot be replaced but remembering should often bring out a smile at least. I will keep all of you in my thought and prayers as you get through this dark period.

I remember spending several Wednesdays with Gary in Annapolis as we were both Commission siners on the Wildlife Advisory Commission. I always appreciated Gary's well spoken and informed opinions he offered in our meetings. While I never got to know him on a more personal level I always thought highly of him. Praying that God grants all of Gary's family and friends comfort and apeace beyond all understanding.

I'm so sorry to hearing about the passing of Gary. We didn't know each other well, but served together on Maryland's Wildlife Advisory Commission for many years and I always enjoyed listening to Gary's perspective on wildlife management issues and learned a lot from him. He will be sorely missed.
