David August Monahan, Sr.

Obituary

David August Monahan, Sr., 86, of Accident, MD, died Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland, MD.

Born August 1, 1930, in Lonaconing, MD, he was the son of the late John and Lula (Fazenbaker) Monahan. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lee (Parrish) Monahan; four sisters, Gladys Hom, Helen Bonella, Charlotte Cesnick and Mary Klosterman; three brothers, John, Joe and Paul Monahan.

Mr. Monahan was a painter and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by one son, David A. Monahan, Jr. and wife, Dawn, Accident; two grandchildren, Brody Monahan and Amanda Monahan.

A private interment was held in the Grantsville Cemetery.

Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD, is in charge of arrangements.

Cousin David, today is Saturday July 22. Did not know Uncle Dave passed away. So sorry to finally here about it. He was the last of his immmediate family. He was a strong person. Will miss him. Hope you, wife and children are doing well and are staying strong during this time. Sure wish someone would have let the Cesnick family or the Bonella family know. Uncle Dave gave it a good run.
